I told you....girl magazines are just no bueno

Click on the article to the right in May's Glamour..take a min to read..or for sake of having better things to read just scan it over, then let me know your thoughts.  In a recent post I came to the vast realization that women's magazines just can't compare to men's and it's quite shameful.

This article was actually written by a man (shame on you) on what men "really think when they have sex for the first time."  I'm obviously not a man, but I just can't think this is even the slightest bit accurate.  So what Jake is saying is that you think to flex during sex?  Like your biceps?  No wonder this Jake is a "real, live single guy dating in New York City".  If you'd concentrate on other things besides pointless articles in a chick magazine and flexing your muscles you may have better luck.  Just give it a try. Please.  For the Love of God.

And for the sake of anything else human, why on earth would chicks want to know what a man is thinking during sex?  Aren't you more concerned with other things like ovarian cancer, the best diet tips, how to be a successful career woman or things stay at home mom's can do to stay in shape??  Give yourselves some credit ladies.

Guys...do you agree with Jake?  Please tell...  I don't mind to be proven wrong if this is true.

how olds this dude? maybe when your like 18 or so, no wonder this dude is single. After the first time with the chick, there is no thinking involved.

I was definitely like that when I first started out.... trying to flex whatever part of my body, how long can I last, etc... Not anymore, I usually try to focus on the girl and what she responds to. Too much thinking makes things awkward, and especially if its a first time, awkwardness can kill it. Im definitely still self-conscious about my body, performance, and all that other stuff, but not to the point where ill let it get in the way. Hope thats what youre looking for dear. Glad I made it into your blog, ill read it regularly now I know it exists!!

i'm ashamed that a magazine as large as glamour even let this get into their magazine. it's somewhat correct, but written horrible. yes, girls smell good, and yes we notice. yes we flex and suck in, and no, not during the action but before. he's saying if she is saying near your stomach, a guy will suck in and be self-conscious about that. or if she runs her hand over his arm, he'll flex his muscle so she thinks he's strong. it happens. truth is it shouldn't because 90% of the time the girl loves what she sees as is. and the guy is worried for nothing. as for "what to do?" and "what does she like?", you're right, that is why the dude is single. i think the article is pointless and i don't know how any girl would get anything from this. what's the point of it?

i can't imagine this dude's actually any good if he's so worried about himself and not her. and give me a break, flexing, really? he's probably that guy with the pink polo with popped collar, designer jeans that are two sizes too small, enough flammable hair spray to burn his manhattan apartment building to the ground and a bedroom full of mirrors to he can watch himself flex his paul giamatti-like muscles.

I dont understand the whole "flex when someone touches you" thing. I know I am strong, I dont have to flex to prove it. As for the first time, I think that nerves are always going to be present when being with someone for the first time, but this kid is overthinking big time!! The only thing you need to think about is making sure the woman is happy. I for damn sure would not be thinking about the last guy she was with! Thats ridiculous!! If he was that good then she wouldnt be with me in the first place! Obviously this guy, and I am going to go off of what Joey K said, is a metrosexual, pink poloed, popped collared, staring at himself in the mirrow, flexing in the mirror, no self-esteem coward! He needs to read our input and maybe take some advice from it!!!

I think the idea is that the women's mags are trying to promote positive (false) thoughts in women. Ex: he's not noticing my flaws b/c he is too into his own insecurities! I call b.s.
